When shopping for some bedtime reading material for our little one, we came across Curious George Stories to Share and notice that it was part of a series. After owning and reading that book for a few months we decided that it was time to expand upon the number of stories being read at night, so we bought The New Adventures of Curious George. A couple of weeks after having both books we decided to finish this collection of stories, while placing an order for another item.This Treasury of Curious George book has a good quality hard back binding that is a matte finish. The pages of the book are printed on heavy glossy paper, not easily torn by a toddler, and every page is nicely illustrated. The stories in the book are fun to read and keep our toddler's attention while reading to him. We've owned this book for about six months and, as you can see in the pictures, it is holding up very well.If you're looking for a good series of Curious George books that are made to last, then this is a good buy.If you found this review "Helpful", please click the button below.

There is a manufacturing issue because the first page of the first story is out of order with the chapter list, so that is irritating. The stories written by people are ok, the one by the institute is odd. These are NOT original stories, just stories in the style of H.A. and Margret Rey.My daughter still enjoys them and they are nice to add to the rotation of the originals.

This is a great collection of Curious George stories. I love that there are so many stories in one book. We easily read 5-10 kids' stories/books before bed and I love that I don't have to keep grabbing books (less movement at bedtime helps get the kids settled down!).

My kids love Curious George and this book holds up better than the smaller individual books we have. Great stories. Between this book and two other books with a collection of stories, we have practically every Curious George story. Would recommend buying the big books over buying them individually.

I ordered this for one of 4 boys in the household of my granddaughter ranging from 7 mo to 9. They are avid readers except for the 7month old, he is chewing his way through it.

This is a nice hard cover book, with thick pages. The illustrations are definitely in the style of the originals but it isn't the original books. The stories seem a little bit more rushed and abrupt than the original books, and I think that's how they have lost some of their charm.

We love buying Hard Cover Curious George collections over soft cover ones for a few reasons: it helps the beloved stories last more than one child, it makes them more durable to travel with, and when you travel with them it is like bringing multiple books along. Highly recommend!

We love it when our granddaughter bring us this book and asks us to pick out a story. She often picks the story she wants to hear and always laughs at the silly things Curious George does.

About the Author

RANDALL GREEN and JOE BENSEN have climbed together since 1979. Their climbing trips have taken them throughout the Cascades, to the Tetons, and, especially, to the Canadian Rockies and Bugaboos. They made their first trip together to the Bugaboos in 1980, and returned many summers since. Although the number of routes in the Bugaboos seem too numerous to climb in a lifetime, Green has climbed many of them and pioneered several new ones. He lives in Helena, Montana. Joe Bensen tragically died in a climbing accident on Mount Ushba, Caucasus Range, July 2001.

Not a modern guide. It sorta just gives descriptions of climbs so it requires a lot of competence on your end. Amazing area, wish it had a better guide. Mountain project is a bit better

Great book! It has all the info anybody would need to plan a trip to the bugs

If it was possible to give a "no star review" this book would surely deserve it. It's been 10 years since this steaming pile of crap came into my possession, just as I was heading to the Bugs to climb. Having owned and used several guidebooks in my day, I assumed that this one consisted of similar content and quality. Imagine my consternation as we approached our first objective and not being able to even find the first pitch. Filled with detailed topos, demarked photos and written descriptions it became clear that this "guidebook" was better suited to the "fiction" section of the bookstore. Standing at the bottom of several routes we determined that 1) - the photo bore no resemblance to the actual climb. 2) - The topo bore no resemblance to the climb or the photo and 3) - the written description bore no resemblance to the climb, topo or the photo. We climbed anyway and had an amazing trip, one filled with fond memories of good friends on great rock in a spectacular setting. Back at camp, the book wouldn't even burn well as the coated stock was very difficult to keep lit. All in all, truly not worth the paper it was printed on.I would post a recommendation link for Chris Atkinson and Mark Piches excellent BUGABOOS CLIMBER'S GUIDE but it seems to be unavailable through Amazon at the moment. Hunt around the web, it's well worth the time...

This was by far the worst climbing book I have ever used. I HATED IT. descriptions of climbs were incredibly vague, as in "pitches 1-3 climb the crack" and no descriptions for the descents other than the usual down-climb the route. No mention of whether or not to build your own belay anchors or where to build them (i.e. when does the pitch end?). Just incredibly useless and frankly dangerous for anyone who is heading out to the bugs for their first time.

So I brought this book in to our store without first reading it. Wow was I in for a surpise. Badly hand written route descriptions with grainy pictures greated my surprised eyes. And to top it off, I went to the Bugaboos that season and realized how bunk the approach descriptions where. All and all a crappy book. If you are looking for a decent book on the area check out Chris Atkinsons 'The Bugaboos - One of the World's Great Alpine Rockclimbing Centres'. Written by a canadian mountain guide that runs the local B and B, this guide has full color pictures and detail route descriptions. So if want a inadequate guide written by a janitor go with the Mountaineers book but if you want a guide written by some one that actually guides in the Bug's on a regular bases go with Chris'.

Get the other guidebook 'The Bugaboos - One of the World's Great Alpine Rockclimbing Centres' by Chris Atkinson and Marc Piché.It is vastly superior to the Green guide, being written by the ex-Kain hut custodian. It has many more pictures, a thorough description of approaches, descents, equipment, weather, history, maps, etc. If you buy in Canada it runs for about $40 CDN.

I have read this book several times now.. I have some background in SERE.. I graduated in Class 72-01 Air Force SERE.. I also attended all of the Air Force Survival Schools , Arctic, Tropic, Desert, and Jungle. I attended the Army Special Forces SERE School. I have taught SERE in Washington State, Florida, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Jordan. This is a complete well thought out book, that thinks with you as you read.. He anticipates your questions and answers the "experts advice" that he sees as incomplete or in error.. There is no one way to Survive at a Grid Down scenario. Each of you will have to tailor your resources with your belief systems. It will be the most difficult thing you will ever have to do.. This book is a great resource. It clearly defines the threat. It lists resources that you may have or that you can obtain. It constantly reminds you that Wal Mart will be closed and those things you need you will either have or will improvise or go without. When it happens, what do I do? Where do I go? What do I need to live with my family and those in my group? Are groups even a good idea? Can we pool our resources and survive? How much food do I need? Should I buy food storage? It is thought provoking and will have you purchasing more books, and guides.. My experiences in East Africa in the early 80's gave me a harsh look at civil war. You have no idea what starving people will do and how hard it is to say "NO". This book is a must for each library, and is a good read for wives and children. Read it with your family and discuss the options for your family..Now the question for you is; "Can I do what I think I can do"?Ron LongUSAF SERE Class 72-01

The author is a former SERE instructor, and obviously knows his stuff. This book is based on the author's view that a EMP event, similar to the fictional event portrayed in William Forstchen's best seller "One Second After" and discussed at length in Ted Kopple's non-fiction book "Lights Out," as the most likely SHTF scenario that could bring about massive and disruptive change to our personal and national lives if it should ever happen. What Mssrs. Forstchen's book and Kopple's book were short on were specifics, like how to prepare for a possible EMP event happening. What gear do you need, what skills should you practice, where should you go, etc. They did a good job of realistically explaining what an EMP could do, but they pretty much left it at that. Hollerman's book fills the gap nicely, and he gets very, very specific. He doesn't claim to have all the answers, or even that his views will apply to most people, but he doesn't shy away from sticking his own neck out and stating his personal opinions which I like and respect. For instance, he bluntly says that his choice for personal sidearm in a grid down scenario would be a Glock. Period. No waffling. Now, I'm an HK fanboy (HK45C to be specific), it's just the platform I'm comfortable with. But I like the fact that he states his preference, and why he chooses it, and why you probably should as well. He encourages people to think about their own circumstances and apply this book as appropriate to their own lives without totally reinventing the wheel. One thing I wish the author or publisher had taken the time to include would be an index, thus I took away one star. Any guide or manual with this much extensive information really needs a searchable index. Maybe in a future edition? Also, future editions would benefit from chapter summaries as well, so that people can quickly access or remember key points since the writing is so dense with information. This doesn't take away from the quality of the book, or the information, but it would make it much more handy. Otherwise you're pretty much stuck with highlighting the crap out of the book (which I'm doing) and sticking little tabs on the pages. Otherwise a solid choice for people looking to be prepared... for whatever happens.

I have read so many of these preparedness books (including many highly rated ones) that were a complete waste of my time, I couldn’t even tell you. I’m sure many of you have too. 99% of these genre of books are spitting out the same regurgitated information over and over again. It’s an embarrassment. They might as well just copy and paste each other’s pages to each other (maybe they do).Jonathan Hollerman’s book Survival Theory is a breath of fresh air, among a field of mostly arm-chair commandos. You can tell from reading him, that he is the real deal. He doesn’t just talk about it. He didn’t just read about it from other “preppers”. He studies it, does it and has experienced it (well, much of it anyway...hopefully we’ll never find out). This is finally a survival book worth highlighting! The greatest part about him, is he uses real common sense to understand or theorize events or outcomes...along with a ton of study behind it. So many books, blogs, and comments I’ve read...amazingly, don’t. He has done his research, and it shows. I’ve been through multiple hurricanes. I’m CERT certified (twice). I hold 5 FEMA IS certificates. I’ve been activated at our EOC during Hurricane Irma, working alongside Fire, EMS, Police, EM and city officials. I’ve been without power for days. I’ve experienced and have been trained a little bit.Here’s an example of what many don’t realize and you won’t hear it mentioned in most other books (except Jonathan’s). If you are connected to city sewer (a whole-lot of us are) and the power is out city-wide...those pumps that keep that sewage moving and processing at the wastewater plant, aren’t working. The sewage starts building up in the pipes (because people are still flushing with pool water, lake water...whatever they can) and eventually after pipes clogs enough, it starts backing up into properties and homes. I have seen this happen to people during Irma in as little as a week due to compounding issues. Sections of town were not able to use their toilets and had to go to other areas to do their business. So, the books out there saying everything will be fine when the grid goes down in surburbia, as long as you’ve stockpiled enough food, made friends with your neighbors, lay low, have enough ammo for unruly people, and hunker down in your home...are clueless. They don’t understand the big picture. They haven’t truly researched all angles of these scenarios. Sewage backing up into your property WILL make your home uninhabitable. Then what?Overall, Jonathan’s book does paint quite a bleak picture because he’s mainly talking about the worst case scenario...grid down. I applaud him for taking on such an immense and complicated subject. It is not easy, and most “authors” just merely skim through it. He does not. Is it a realistic thing for Mr. and Mrs. Jones to worry about? Worry every day? No. Be somewhat mentally and physically prepared for? Absolutely yes. There is information out there, if you’re willing to hear it, about how the US has malware implanted into other countries to be able to shut their grid down, if they “needed to”. There are countries that also have malware implanted in the US, with those same capabilities, for if and when they “need to”. This particular country has already proven their capabilities by cyber-attacking multiple US large banks (like Wells Fargo) to “test” the waters not too long ago. Is a grid attack on us likely to occur? I sure hope not. But...it is certainly possible and they are quite capable.Thank you Jonathan! I am only halfway way through it and I’ve already learned a ton.

Very good guide to Norway. Well written. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is wrong about ethnic restaurants being the cheapest place to eat. We found it cheaper walk a little away from the touristy areas and eat real Norwegian food. We didn't go to Norway to eat pizza! Also the restaurants it recommends are not good - one was downright disgusting. We found TripAdvisor's recommendations excellent for restaurants - all of their recommendations were top notch. The book also fails to point out that many restaurants are closed for July! That would have saved us a lot of time. We did most of their 'Top Experiences' and they were spot on. We did the Oslo-Bergen railway and stayed in beautiful Bergen for 5 nights taking in the Flam railway and the Sognefjorden. We took the Hurtigruten to Kirkennes, which brings you right into the Geirangerfjorde, Trollfjorden, Tronheim, the Lofoten Islands and Tromso. It was good for Oslo, except that it fails to mention that the very expensive Munch Museum is tiny and really not worth it. Otherwise an excellent guide.

There are probably 10 pictures total. I thought this would provide information on hikes and trails and there is NOTHING. There are about 2,000 different hotel and restaurant phone numbers so it may be a good purchase if that is your main concern, otherwise it is useless.

This book, a cellphone, and a tent got me through a great two week trip in Norway this summer. I took a loop of the south, and this book had everything I needed to get around and find places to sleep. Great lists of hostels and hotels with up to date contact info, nice maps for most of the cities I visited, and perfect instructions for finding the sights. I spent a huge amount of time with this book at my fingertips, referencing which bus to take, etc. The book is easy to navigate and provided great inspiration during the planning phase of my trip. I couldn't be happier with it.

Bought this to help plan a trip I am taking in the fall. I noticed a previous reviewer complained about an outdated reference in his edition to something that would happen in 2008. But my copy was just issued in June 2011, so that would not be a problem, right? Incredibly, it is still in the book! Either the book was edited by a chimp, or, more likely, the only thing that was changed was the publication date. Unfortunately, I bought the Kindle edition and am stuck.

Bought the Kindle version and it still needs improvements. When you click a link, you can't return to where you were: I had to make sure to bookmark where I was before clicking a link. The maps are still on multiple pages but also on one page which is "zoomable": the resolution is not that high so there is still room for improvement there. The final chapter about language is scanned and not ebook and that alone reduced by one star my rate. Overall I think the Kindle version should be cheaper than the printed version.The book contents are 5 star material. I liked the new format starting right away with geography and regions so I could concentrate right away on planning my trip (Southern Regions by land). As a consequence history and other facts are at the end of the book and it was great for me to come back to those at my own pace after I would have completed planning of my trip.

I am used to Lonely Planet travel books and this is my first purchase of kindle version. It is difficult to navigate and awkward to handle. With the print version you can flip through pages easily and find the section or place you are looking for. In this version you have to search one page at a time. It is also not convenient to carry around an iPad when sightseeing, whereas the print version is ideal size for tourists.

I feel cheated. This so-called 2010 Kindle edition makes predictions about things that might happen by the end of 2008, such as Bergen having city-wide internet. Other parts seem out of date. This appears to be the 2008 print edition, simply renamed by Amazon as the 2010 Kindle edition. Lonely Planet is releasing a 2011 edition of this Norway guide in May 2011. I would have waited to buy the 2011 version had I not been misled by Amazon.

Lonely Planet...that's all you need to know...far superior to almost all other travel books IMHO.

Based on what I had read about this book, I was expecting something that not just included recipes, but also the plan for how to meal prep. While I appreciate the advice on containers and how to freeze, I was hoping more for suggestions on bulk preparation for the week in an efficient way. I am sure these recipes are tasty, but if you are actually following a Keto plan, many of these are not Keto... pasta is not Keto. So, if you are looking for something that will help you prepare KETO meals for a period of time, this is not the book you want!!! Also, it is black and white... I may have missed that in the description.

I recently use meal prep, it's healthy and tasty. This cookbook will be an excellent assistant on your kitchen, because there are amazing recipes that you can cook easily and quickly. I give five stars to this book. Well decorated and there are pictures

I want to cook using keto meal prep, because it has several advantages. There are recipes here that are so good that I want to cook everything at once. The recipes are illustrated, the instruction is written affordable. I haven't cooked anything yet, but it looks delicious. I think this book deserves your attention.

Some of the low carb recipes in this book look really good and i will adapt some others to be keto. However things like splenda are not allowed on keto. The point of keto isnt to just eat low carb but also to eat healthy whole foods.

I can say that this Keto Meal Prep cookbook really helps beginners to change their eating habits into a more healthier one and have a better lifestyle. It contains sufficient information about keto diet for you to have better understanding. Recipes are all great and flavorful.

I started my hero journey back in late January and my thyroid us acting up so it has been a frustration in losing. Thanks for the hints

Mr. Carter's previous work "The Late Shift" about the turmoil which ensued in finding a replacement for Johnny Carson was an excellent piece of reporting. "The War for Late Night" could be considered a sequel to the 1994 nonfiction book and just as good as its predecessor. However, it isn't necessary to read "The Late Shift" to understand what occurs in "The War for Late Night." The chaos which unfolded was more than simply a power struggle between Mr. Leno and Mr. O'Brien. There were also the decisions or demands made by the station affiliates, show producers, NBC executives and the parent company General Electric that contributed greatly to the mess. The author does a tremendous job describing what happened. Unlike in "The Late Shift" where Jay Leno manager, Helen Kushnick, came across as a stupendous a-hole, nobody in "The War for Late Night" fits that bill... well actually... if Mr. O'Brien's tv producer Gavin Polone and Helen Kushnick ever had a baby, the child would likely have the birthmark 666 on its forehead. But besides Mr. Polone's personality, the author's fair-minded depiction of the people involved is one reason the book is so appealing. Mr. Carter's work shows that even the best of intentions can still devolve into hurt feelings and people getting the royal shaft.It's difficult to take anything at face value in politics. business or entertainment. BS is a major staple of these professions. All too often, the players involved portray to the public that such dramas are minor disagreements, while behind the scenes, the proverbial poop is hitting a warehouse of fans. The executives' primary responsibility is to make a profit. The producers' and entertainers' objective is to make entertaining and popular shows. The joining of these two parties is always ripe for conflict. Mr. Leno, Mr. Letterman, and anyone a party to the 1992 "Tonight Show" debacle certainly had no desire to have a repeat performance in 2010. And yet, they did. Mr. Carter takes time to give brief biographies of the main characters such as Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno, CEO Jeff Zucker, David Letterman and other power brokers as well as rising talents Jon Stewart, Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert.Mr. Carter explains how the ground beneath late-night entertainment has dramatically shifted since the days when either Johnny Carson was king or when Leno and Letterman were the only competitors on tv. I don't watch late-night television with the exception of a Internet clip here or there. Yet, the author's very fair, entertaining, and highly informative book kept me glued to my seat. The book's a keeper.

This a balanced account of the late night debacle of a few years back. Carter sufficiently introduces all of the players: Leno, O'Brien, and Letterman, as well as more peripheral hosts like Kimmel, Fallon, Stewart, Colbert, Kilborn, and Ferguson, who each get their own backstory. Carter also breathes life into all the otherwise unknown network executives, agents, and producers. Apart from the participants themselves, the changing nature of the television industry also gets covered here; the events of this book cannot be understood apart from these developments.Carter really doesn't come down in favor of either Leno or O'Brien. (He can't, really, if he hopes to secure interviews and comments from both.) But he does present both sides of the argument. The reader may get the sense, however, that Leno is a bit of a cold fish. Not diabolical, certainly, but unmoved by emotions and a creature of habit. While this doesn't necessarily make him an antagonist, it may tip the scales of opinion in Conan's favor.As is to be expected in a piece about funnymen, there are plenty of jokes cited in these pages, many of which will bring a laugh to the reader. It's a serious work, but it has plenty of light moments.I'd be interested to get Carter's take on what's happened since this book was written: Zucker at CNN, Leno out from the Tonight Show (again), Fallon on Tonight, Letterman leaving to be replaced by Colbert, and Meyers on Late Night. The late night landscape today, it seems, is in a near constant state of shift.Even though the previous (1992) late night debacle was before my time, based on the strength of this work I may also check out Carter's earlier work, Late Shift.

I really enjoyed Carter's 1994 book The Late Shift, which was about the way NBC messed up the transition from Johnny Carson. So it was with great pleasure that I read what could be considered the sequel; which explains how NBC messed up their attempt at transition from Carson's successor, Leno... back to Leno! And once again lost a promising talent.This is a well-written book which provides suspense and enjoyment even if you followed Leno's disastrous prime time debut and the subsequent struggles with late night star Conan O'Brien. There's always more information you didn't know at the time. Mr. Carter always provides a wealth of information, commentary, analysis, and a vivid picture of the personalities involved.A great read for anyone interested in how television works.

A very fascinating, well-written story about what all of us, at one point, watch: late night TV. As a fan of Jay Leno, Johnny Carson, Jimmy Kimmel, Letterman and Conan, I found that Bill Carter's book gives the reader a knowledgeable and "So tell me how this really works" type narrative.If you're a fan of late night TV and what goes on behind the curtain to make it all work - or crash & burn - you can't go wrong with this book.
